GIRO è un elemento libreria/contenitore costituito da un palo in acciaio di altezza variabile nel quale vengono infilate un numero a scelta di elementi. Questi elementi, costituiti da “scatole” in legno massello di rovere con bordo tagliato a 45° di tre formati differenti (36×36, 36×54, 36×72), attraverso l’uso di cuscinetti meccanici, che permettono loro di ruotare su se stesse di 360° indipendentemente l’una dall’altra, a seconda di come sono girati servono zone differenti dell’ambiente, creando al contempo giochi di ombre, di pieni e di vuoti.
Affiancando più elementi si ottiene un sistema che può fungere da separazione tra due zone di un unico ambiente.
GIRO is a bookcase/storage system composed of a steel pole of varying heights onto which elements may be threaded as desired. The elements are boxes made of solid oak with edges beveled at 45° in three different formats (36×36, 36×54, 36×72). The boxes are mounted on sealed bearings that allow them to swivel freely and independently around the pole, allowing them to serve different parts of the room depending on their orientation, while also creating an aesthetic interplay of light and shadow, solids and voids.
The system may be combined to create room partitions.
